Lee Kun-Hee (born January 9, 1942, Ŭiryŏng, South Kyŏngsang province, Korea [now in South Korea]—died October 25, 2020, Seoul, South Korea) South Korean businessman who was chairman (1987–2008; 2010–20) of the conglomerate Samsung Group and chairman of its flagship company, Samsung Electronics (2010–20). Lee was the youngest son of Lee Byung-Chull, who founded Samsung in 1938. He majored in economics at Waseda University, Tokyo, and earned a master of business administration degree at George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
