The Permian Period is subdivided into Early (Cisuralian), Middle (Guadalupian), and Late (Lopingian) epochs corresponding to the Cisuralian, Guadalupian, and Lopingian rock series. Rocks laid down during these epochs and ages have been assigned to corresponding depositional series and stages, respectively.
